With SQL Server 2022 Enterprise Core, you have no hardware limitations like the Standard edition, allowing you to utilize an unlimited number of CPU cores and memory, up to the operating system's maximum.

In addition to all the features of the Standard edition, SQL Server 2022 Enterprise Core introduces several new capabilities. These include Azure Synapse Link for SQL (multithreaded snapshot), a link feature for Azure SQL Managed Instance, built-in query intelligence (DOP feedback, CE feedback, Memory Grant feedback), Contained Availability Group, and AVX 512 extension for batch mode.

SQL Server 2022 Enterprise Core also offers downgrade rights, allowing you to use previous versions like SQL Server 2019. Furthermore, Software Assurance provides additional benefits during the coverage period, such as access to new versions, a passive failover server, license mobility rights, unlimited virtualization and containers, and Power BI Report Server.
